Terms of Use

Last updated: 23 September 2026

These terms explain what beam is, what we expect from you while you use it, and how we handle people who don't meet that expectation. By using beam, you agree to them.

What beam is

beam is an event networking app. At a participating event, it notices other people physically near you and gives you a reason to talk to them. While you are beaming, your profile — your name, photo, city, employer, schools, tags, and bio — is visible to other people nearby.

Content and behaviour

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Specifically, on beam you must not post or send:

You must not harass, threaten, or abuse other people through beam or at the events where you use it.

Reporting and blocking

Every person shown to you in beam can be reported and blocked. Reporting someone blocks them at the same time — after you report or block someone, you will not see each other anywhere in the app, and no further connection between you is recorded.

Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours. Accounts that post objectionable content or behave abusively are suspended or removed; a suspended account cannot sign in.

Your account

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete Account. Deleting your account removes your profile, your connections, your notes, and your saved people. This cannot be undone.
